Open Summer '04: Symbian OS Open Source Developer Contest

NewLC Open Summer '04 is a development contest targeted at Symbian OS open source developers. Submit your application or demo before September, 19 and take a chance to win cool stuff... If you have written a game, tool, utility or just a technology demo and you intend to make it open source, then this contest is for you.

How Do I Participate ?

Once you have completed your development, there are 5 easy steps to follow:
-  write a short description of your application,
-  make a screenshot or two,
-  prepare a SIS package and zip of the source directory tree
-  add everything in a single zip archive
-  register and upload your contribution on the contest site.

Your application must be uploaded before September, 19.

10 applications will be picked up and one will be awarded the grand prize. All submitted applications shall be written in C++ and follow the term of one of the open source licenses listed on the Open Source Initiative web site (this includes GPL, LGPL, BSD, MIT, Mozilla, ... licenses).

Judging criterias include:
-  Overall interest
-  Ease of use, UI, graphics and/or audio quality.
-  Code quality and documentation
-  Respect of the Symbian Signed quality requirements.

What can I win ?

Thanks to Nokia and Symbian, we will be able to give away a few cool prizes:
-  a CodeWarrior Wireless Development Kit for Symbian OS, P900 Personal Edition
-  a Symbian Affiliate Partnership (for companies only)
-  copies of the Borland Mobile Studio (including C++BuilderX for Symbian and JBuilder)
