Nokia 7710: the first Series 90 device on the market ?
SlashPhone has published some information regarding a possible successor to the Nokia 7700: the Nokia 7710. This device seems to correct the major default of its predecessor: its bulky form factor.
They write: Nokia 7710 is base on Symbian OS, Series 90 user interface. Nokia 7710 is a multimedia enable smartphone includes emailing, innovative design, large touch screen, MP3/AAC music player. It has built in Realone Player, support bluetooth and is able to synchronize with PC.
According to Reuters, and as reported by our friends from AAS, the mobile should be officially announced at a Nokia internal event in Monaco next month.

Why couldn't they use UIQ, but had to make their own platform for the device.
Isn't Symbian too fragmented anyway?
