Motorola leaves Symbian...

Nokia and Psion have announced this morning that they will buy the shares from Motorola in the Symbian consortium. It is then expected that Nokia increases its shareholding from 20% to 32% and while Psion increases from 24% to 31%.

Motorola still remain a Symbian licensee but wants to keep its primary focus on Java.

This isn't good. Another company that could provide something in Symbian C++ development (a better general toolkit or IDE - they do provide the Codewarrior Wireless studio for Java for free to their developers) left.

I don't think this will affect CodeWarrior for Symbian OS C++ tools deliveries.
