Mophun 3D Bleeding Edge Initiative

Stockholm, Sweden - October 8th, 2003

Synergenix Interactive today announces mophun 3D Bleeding Edge Initiative. This initiative will fund game ideas so that developers can realize their project using mophun 3D environment.

The Initiative is a way of ensuring that good content gets rewarded, a way of improving the quality being created and a way of ensuring new levels of technology are reached.

"If you have an idea that pushes the limits of mobile gaming using mophun 3D, we will fund it", promised Per Österberg, CEO of Synergenix. "We have decided to help games developers realize their ideas with the new platform 'mophun 3D'. This is part of a long-term initiative and commitment to support the gaming community. Synergenix will be funding development of game ideas; game developers will actually get paid for writing games, and also receive royalties for every copy sold."

Mophun 3D is a fast gaming system for mobile phones, pushing mobile games to new levels, enabling true multi-player gaming mobile networks and true 3D gaming features.

Mophun is a premium gaming system available on Sony Ericsson T226, T230, T300, T310, T610, Z600, P800, N-Gage, Symbian 7650, 3650, Motorola A920, and Pocket PC handsets.

How to get involved with the Bleeding Edge Initiative:

  1. Submit a game proposal to mailto:bei@mophun.com. The gaming concept may have been published before on other platforms.
  2. Include a concept document and screenshots. If possible provide a demo of the game.
  3. Consider the limitations when presenting the game idea. Each game should be no more that 250K (less than 150K when compressed). Each game must load and start within 5 seconds of activation by the user.
  4. Submit the game proposal before 31st of October 2003.

> Mophun 3D Bleeding Edge Initiative

mophun is currently integrated into SonyEricssson models T300, T310, T610 (not P800 or n-gage, 7650,3650), so it's not symbian related

> Mophun 3D Bleeding Edge Initiative

Yes and no. Mophun has been ported to Series 60 and UIQ. Check Mophun web site for more information.

Mophun is running on top of Symbian (e.g. P800, n-gage, 7650, 3650, 6600 and others) so the easy to use mphun SDK is solving the pain of developing direct on Symbian.

I couldn't find any files download for Symbian on mophun site, so when will be possible to play mophun games on Series60/UIQ?

> Mophun 3D Bleeding Edge Initiative

mophun 2.0 will come to S60 and UIQ shortly. It is today available to premium mophun developers, please contact info@mophun.com if you are interested in developing mophun applications for Symbian.

The mophun 2.0 SDK is in beta right now, final release will come very shortly. It will (as always with mophun) be freely downloadable from www.mophun.com once the final version is out.

And yes, our beta testers confirm that it is a lot easier to develop games in mophun than in native Symbian. People even choose to develop n-Gage games in mophun rather than Symbian...
