To read more about the release and download the .sis files please visit:

Feel free to check out the source code and build it yourself as well. You may also want to get on some of the mailing lists or the IRC channel to talk about Symbian development issues.

Just follow the link in the original article. On that page you will see instructions for installing the build system and CVS. After that you just use the build system to check out the source code and to build the final .sis file.
If you have any troubles, just join one of the Helix mailing lists, like the Symbian one, and post there. There are a lot of devs on those mailing lists that can help with just about anything.

Did you follow the instructions on the Symbian Build page?
https://symbian.helixcommunity.org/buildguide.html
You would want to first follow the general build instructions on the main Helix page (www.helixcommunity.org) to build the simple command line player, splay. That will make sure your build system is set up. After that you can try the Symbian player. The Symbian docs will mention a fairly old branch, currently I would suggest you build off of the hxclient_1_5_0_cayenne branch.
