Borland C++BuilderX

Borland has announced a new version of C++ Builder called C++BuilderX.

The Mobile edition includes the Nokia Series 60 1.2 SDK and the Nokia Series 80 SDK. It also brings compatibility with all Symbian SDKs (even those targeted at Microsoft and Metrowerks IDE). This means that C++ BuilderX is compatible with:
-  Symbian 6.x,7.0 and 7.0s
-  Series 60, Series 80 and UIQ SDKs
-  Nokia 92xx, Nokia 3650/6600/7650/N-Gage, SonyEricsson P80x, Siemens SX1, Samnsung SGH-D700, Motorola A925 devices

Borland also announce that the IDE would be compatible with coming SDKs and devices.

Other nice features includes:
-  on-target debugging support
-  transparent installation of target application to device
-  tight integration of CVS

It is expected to be available in September 2003.

It this the killer IDE for the Symbian developer ? Let's wait for the next version of Codewarrior and hope this is the start of a good competition between Metrowerks and Borland that could be beneficial to all of us.
