AppForge has just released two new products: Crossfire v5.6 and AppForge Data Sync.

Crossfire 5.6

Crossfire 5.6 contains several key features and benefits, including GPS support for leading devices, together with cell-ID access that enables the development of location- based service applications, controls specific to Socket ™ In-Hand scanners for Palm OS® and Windows® Mobile-based Pocket PC Devices and support for high resolution Windows Mobile based Pocket PC devices.

Crossfire 5.6 expands user interface options with a new treeview control that supports the display of - and interaction with - hierarchical data sets. The Client Installation Tool, also introduced in this release, simplifies application deployment and activation. Also very shortly, we will be releasing support for the Nokia 9500/9300 Communicator smartphones.

As with previous versions of Crossfire, developers are able to take advantage of these features and benefits when creating applications for more than 350 of the most popular mobile devices and platforms. Customers are able to focus on building the best applications for their organizations without worrying about device obsolescence.

AppForge Data Sync

AppForge Data Sync is designed to leverage the foundation of mobile application development from AppForge Crossfire 5.6. With the AppForge Data Sync SDK™ feature, developers have extensive control of the synchronization process from Crossfire or MobileVB and can easily augment their solutions to configure and access the underlying synchronization engine.

Other key features provide developers with secure, flexible data synchronization and remote data transfer capability, regardless of bandwidth or the reliability of network connections. Features such as bi-directional data synchronization ensure that changes and updates are reflected on both the device and the enterprise database. In addition, single-point client deployment capabilities automatically install all necessary supporting files on the device.
